I discovered at some point when I was drawing today's comic that the
characters actually had the potential to be drawn from multiple angles.
I got sick of them looking like they were poorly drawn imitations of
Real Life Comic
characters. They were sort of stagnant and I got irritated and
somewhere about halfway through here I granted them the ability to move
their heads on their necks. I like the effect.
Ben Banks
A shout out to Ben Banks who pointed out to me that
I was missing a key component of comic typography:
randomly bolded words.
Vice City
I am up to my eyeballs in games right now, but the one that spends
the most time in my system is
GTA: Vice City.
I almost felt bad buying it, since I'm not done with Devil May Cry or
Turok: Evolution ('course, I don't intend to finish playing Turok, since
Turok is the single least enjoyable excuse for a game I've had the
displeasure of spending my own money on), and I bought it concurrent to
my playing of Red Faction 2.
Vice City is more of the same from GTA3, but that's not a problem
from my perspective. Whenever I finished playing all the missions on
GTA3, I went on forums and did missions that other fans had made up. I
couldn't get enough of that game. It's not that I was infatuated with
it (like Marathon), it's just that GTA3 is fun to play.
And so is Vice City.
Actually, the "least fun to play" new component of this
GTA's gameplay is probably the motorcycles. Taking damage when I am
thrown from one for whatever reason (ie: a car bumps me, I bump a car, a
skid into a wall), is not my idea of fun. Nevertheless, it is so
friggin' nifty that you can even steal a motorcycle (or vespa, or
dirtbike, or chopper), and it is done well. I especially like
how when you try to jack a bike from the front, Tommy does the flying
kick, knocking the goon off the bike and placing himself in the seat all
in one motion. So I don't really know what I'm complaining about.
J5 - Power in Numbers
I picked up the new
Jurassic 5 album at my
local record shop today, and played it whilst the comic was being
drawn. Normally, it takes me a few hours to get all this stuff
together, so when the CD ran shorter than 60 minutes, I was a little
miffed. I just let it repeat through again, though. That's how sweet
this album is. Thin Line is an especially well-crafted track
about friends becoming more-than-friends that I would recommend. I got
this disc for 13 bux, and it was worth every penny and more.
You are all beautiful for reading this comic and telling your
friends about it.

Red Faction 2
Read Jason Cassidy's
review of the newest shooter in my system. If you choose to email
him, bear in mind that he is generally misanthropic and
specifically dislikes people.

Editors
I corrected a spelling mistake. Thanks for the heads-up, MB and Jason
and Ben and Jen!
Letitia points out that the word balloons get a little jumbled.
This is my fault: I haven't the foggiest idea of the conventions of
comic typography, since it's the sort of thing you don't seem to notice
unless it's wrong. If anyone knows where I can get some pointers in
this or other related areas, give a
holler. Your feedback
is muy importante to me
